A change is gonna happen...

As read in my Self magazine "Find your edge. No one who has achieved greatness got there by following an easy path laid out by others. She did it by creating her own vision and striving to achieve, then surpass it. Now that the lazy days of summer are behind you, it's time to renew your focus. Think about what you want to accomplish, set a goal, and take a step toward it every day. You are standing on the brink of something spectacular."

Wow, if that isn't motivating then I got nothing.

Feeling like it is time for a few changes in my life. Hair, diet, workout, working more OT again, managing money better, stressing less. It is all on the list. Looking to do a little something new with the hair, getting back on a nice workout routine, hoping a new diet will help with my skin, headaches, and overall how I feel. I hate the thought of a "diet" and I really hate the thought of not being able to have something I want because then I only want more, but I want to give it a go for a bit and see if it really does help with some of my issues. I know it isn't good to strive to change a lot at once but I've got some hefty goals to achieve between now and the end of the year. Gonna make it happen. I'm going to find my edge. I'm a little tired of feeling like I'm in this life limbo.
So how do you get a little dog who wants me to go outside with her everytime she is outside not care if I am outside with her or not? Hang up a bird feeder. Best $3.50 I ever spent. Hours of entertainment right there. She can stare out the back door at the birds or even better sprint back and forth across the backyard trying to catch them. Now she really doesn't mind if I am out there with her or not and she isn't about to come back in if the birds are out. And I have learned, birds do not turn away from free food. Even with dogs standing guard over the feeder.

Good times at the IL State Fair last weekend with Missy! In addition to eating corn dogs, mini donuts, and funnel cakes...there were quite a few memorable quotes that came out of the evening including:

Shyla-"That guy is hot in a Mickey Rourke sort of way."
Missy-"There is nothing hot about Mickey Rourke."

(looking back now minus the drinks I completely agree)

Missy-"I can't believe the drinks are only $3.75"

Shyla-"I can considering I'm drinking a cup of liquid vapors" (still don't know what that was but it officially converted me to a beer drinker!)

Missy-"I want my picture with a State Trooper!"

(imagine that sentence fading out as she runs off to tell him this)

Missy-"Is that a disposable dog bowl?"

(Yes, we had our nachos served in a disposable dog bowl. Now I understand more about how presentation impacts food.)

Missy-"There is beer on my toes, why is there beer on my toes, was that you?"

Shyla-"Sorry."

And a few other blog inappropriate lines!

SafetySuit opened and they were awesome! Love them and now Caylea does too. You should go download "Down" right now.

And 3 Doors Down was awesome!

Concert go-ers

I just love the Russell's dog Papi! He's my little buddy. I also must point out how delicious my 2 visits to Gloria Jeans were. Miss that place. Even with the scary health code violations stories, I'll risk it.

So last night went to a fun birthday party for a friend at a sushi restaurant. She had a private room with karaoke. She was flipping through the book when we both noticed this song at the same time and thought somehow the "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" somehow must've gotten lost in translation. It didn't. That's a real song.

The birthday girl Michelle, Julie, and me. Good times, good laughs, and met some new friends.
