No Sweat

Remember the post I wrote about what makes a real runner? I was reading my most recent Runner's World magazine and smiled when I read this quote:
"I often hear people say 'I'm not a real runner.' We are all runners, some just faster than others, that's all. I have never met a fake runner." quoted from Bart Yasso who is an author of a book called My Life on the Run. I think he sums that up very nicely.
I think most of you know, but some of you may not, that today I had a photo shoot for Shape magazine. I don't know who all reads this blog often so I probably haven't told all of you but I'm going to be in the September issue of Shape. (could be bumped to October but hopefully September) So my photo shoot was today. I was not too nervous about it until yesterday.

I got a phone call from the photographer while sitting in my car. I was just about to get out to go get my nails done. Ten minutes later I am off the phone, shoot all planned, and I realized my shirt was a little wet from my stomach sweating, it was hot in the car. Panic officially sets in. I think to myself "Oh my gosh, my stomach sweats a lot when I am on the trail not to mention if I get nervous, it's going to be hot, and my coral colored tank will not hide anything!" Then this morning it hits me, I will just slather myself in deodorant! Worked like a charm. No sweat issues at all!

So I met the photographers at the trail and they were super nice guys and fun to work with. I felt kinda famous having one of the guys hold up one of those big lighting circle things by me to get the light just right. Was nice to be on the trail and not sweat for a change. On the downside it was humid as all get out with no breeze. So my hair did not cooperate. I am nervous about how the pics will turn out hair-wise...but hopefully they will be good. My face also decided now was the time to have a massive break out session. I made a comment about it and the photographer said he could edit that right out, he could fix anything. Wouldn't it be nice if we could edit real life like that?

Happy birthday!

Happy birthday Julie!

And happy birthday Missy's hubs Jason! Aka the husband who supports our Bon Jovi road trips, girl's trip to Mexico, and doesn't yell at me for taking his wife to the Coach outlets.

Tonight in my scrapbook room...

I had to work today but when I got home I had this sudden urge to scrapbook. I hadn't done it in a very long time.
This is what I came up with. Took me 4 hours. Doesn't seem like it should take so long but by the time I go through all my paper and coordinate what matches with what and make sure I know exactly what I want to use...seems to take a long time!

It was a fun one to do, now I just need to find somewhere in the house to hang it. So I mentioned I was digging through my supplies making sure I had just what I wanted...all the sudden some movement catches my eye. Oh goody, a big spider.

See him there? He was at least in some bubble wrap.

Inside the bubble wrap with the spider was this frame. I tried just turning the frame/bubble wrap upside down over the toilet but the darn thing wouldn't move. So I had to pull out the frame so I could dump the spider or smash him. Didn't want to smash him on my frame. So...I pull out my frame and notice a funny thing, the frame looks like it has a pimple.

Um yeah DISGUSTING. The only thing I can assume that nastiness is would be a spider egg/nest/killer baby spider ready to hatch and get me. So this thing has obviously been living in my bubble wrap awhile. Everytime I think about it or look at it I get chills! So I did the only logical thing there was to do. I grabbed a fly swatter and stood 4 feet back from the spider and the frame, stared at both of them, hugging myself and saying to Caylea "I don't know what I am going to do but I do know I'm going to blog about this, so go get my camera." Again, DISGUSTING. Lots of pros to being single but one giant con is nobody around to kill spiders for me. I managed to destroy the little spider and his pending family. Blech.

A little help here

"So far God, I've done alright. I haven't gossiped, I haven't lost my temper.

I haven't been grumpy, nasty, or selfish. I'm really glad of that.

But in a few minutes God, I'm going to get out of bed;

I'm probably going to need a lot of help."

Important letter

"First I was dying to finish high school and start college.

And then I was dying to finish college and start working.

Then I was dying to marry and have children.

And then I was dying for my children to grow old enough so I could go back to work.

Then I was dying to retire.

And now...I'm dying.

Suddenly I realized, I forgot to live"

"The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it."

The best revenge

"Maybe you've been hurt. Perhaps someone betrayed you. Beat down, let down. Beat on, cheated on. Talked about, left about. Stolen from, run from. Neglected, not protected. 30 years ago, or 30 minutes ago. You want revenge? Here's the absolute, undeniable, hands down, bet your bottom dollar, best recipe for revenge, live well."
