I had taken a 1/2 day off on Friday (which I hardly ever do, I recently told my boss I know I found a job I enjoy when I carry over PV days) to drive to the outlet so I didn't have to deal with the weekend crowd. When I got back into town I went to Barnes and Noble and read some mags in the cafe. I haven't done that in forever. It was nice. Came home and cleaned then ordered pizza. Went to the store (Gerbes, which is Krogers in Bloomington) and found a cashier named Shyla. Random. Remembered why at one time I loathed Pizza Hut when I ordered for carry out. Showed up 30 mins later like they said to. Stand there for 20 mins. while being told "it's almost done." Only to then have some guy come out of the back and say they were just now putting the pizza in the oven. Um, seriously did you just tell me they were just putting it in the oven? I was not a happy camper. But he promised me it'd be done in 8 mins. and gave me some free pizza so all in all it was just inconvenient. Went home and watched Real Housewives of the OC.
Saturday worked for awhile. Against my better judgement decided to run to the mall to go to Victoria's Secret to stock up on my favorite lotion (Candy, baby is the bomb although I went a little crazy and got a bottle of Plumdrop too) while on sale. I really don't enjoy going to the mall at all anymore and it gives me anxiety. Got my lotion, came home and watched a movie about running and read some running blogs. I love reading blogs but the problem is I get hooked on a person's blog then start checking out the other blogs they recommend and get lost in blog-world for hours. Talked myself into going for a run outside this morning since it wasn't too cold. Managed to go 3.5 miles and felt pretty good. It took me 3 minutes longer than my normal time but since I've been off for almost 2 months I figured it could've been worse. I went to record my run in my log book and decided to total my miles from July thru November last year. I started the log book in July and before that wrote my runs on my calendar. From July on I ran 179 miles. I roughly estimated my miles from March-June and I had been running more those months. Rough guess is I ran approximately 400 miles last year. My goal is to double that this year. Just for fun I figured I'd average a 10 min. mile x400 miles=4000 mins/60 mins an hour=over 66 hours of running. That's a bit crazy to think about.
I purchased the Nike+iPod system a few months ago and for something so simple for some reason I can't figure it out. (insert Shyla-moment joke here) So I've been eyeing this watch. It's bulky and more than I want to spend, but the thing does it all except give you a massage afterwards. I think it'd be pretty awesome.
