Happy feet and a long upcoming weekend

On Friday I'm heading to Nashville to see Andre, Stacy, and Azlyn. I haven't seen them over 2 years! I'm so excited! And it'll be SO nice to have 5 days off of work. I asked Stacy to whip up some of her potato salad, yum!
Ran on the trail today after work. 2 miles, 21 mins.
I have a ways to go to get back to where I was at this time last year, but seems like each run gets a little bit easier. I'm going to splurge on a new pair of running shoes. My shoes I bought last year have accumulated over 500 miles on them, which is crazy to even think I have ran that far in my life much less the past year. But the blister on the bottom of my foot is telling me it's time to retire my current pair. It's almost like car maintenance for running shoes, instead of every 3,000 miles you need an oil change it's every 500 miles you need new shoes. On another foot related note, I'm getting a pedicure Thursday night and I can't wait! My last one was a year ago! Since I've been so focused on my budget I didn't want to spend the money and with running my feet get pretty beat up anyways. So I will have happy feet. Pretty toes, and pretty new running shoes. Maybe in Nashville I'll find some pretty new heels. Very happy feet in my future. :)

Doggie birthday

This weekend went and saw this movie....
And loved it! I thought it was great! Friday night had pizza, ice cream, and great conversation with a great girlfriend. Saturday worked for awhile then went to see the movie. Then went home and cleaned at 8pm on a Saturday night. Wild and crazy I know! :)
May 12th was the dog's birthday's. It was Magnus's and Jazzie's was close enough we just made it her birthday too. So they got their usual birthday vanilla ice cream from Dairy Queen.

They were in heaven

Sunday I went for a run then spent some time studying for my next insurance ed test coming up. Sundays have become my favorite day of the week. Since I tend to end up in the office on Saturdays, Sundays have become the days I do whatever I want, even if it is studying for a test.

A Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mom's Day to all the mom's! I had a great day with Caylea. Woke up and went for a run. (Well I did, Caylea would have none of that of course!) Then we went to Lowe's and bought some flowers for the flower bed then met my mom out at Chili's. After planting the flowers Caylea and I took the dogs to the dog park. Now I sit typing this and watching the Hangover. Pretty nice day. :)
Caylea at the dog park
Jazzie was not quite sure of the water....

Caylea had no luck in coaxing her over to the edge

Here she is looking at this dog like he has lost his mind for taking a swim

Magnus was just happy to be outside

Then after awhile he became pretty anti-social and hid under a picnic table

My mom's day gift, a new scrapbook and some stickers. Guess that means I need to make some time for scrapbooking! :)

Some of the new flowers we planted today. By we I mean I. After Caylea helped pick out the flowers she was done. No help in planting! I'd have to look at the little insert to see what these are, I already forgot.
These are impatiens...something like that. It's a crapshoot every year I plant flowers since I really have no idea what I am doing.

Caylea liked these because they were sparkly, so did I . :)

Gerbera daisies.

My hosta is looking good. That's the one thing I can count on! The daylillies are back too, didn't get a picture of them.

After everything is planted, hopefully they will grow nicely!
Caylea picked out the Geranium, it's kind of lonely on it's own little corner but I had luck with them last year. After my planting is complete.

Yesterday was a fun mail day. Got three sample packages and a rebate check. :)

My new samples. I was pretty excited about the Energy gel blasts to try for a run. It's a big pack! The Cascade was cool too! Then some travel size shampoo and Kotex U feminine products. Love free samples. :) Especially since I generally order them then forget what I ordered, so it's a fun surprise.

Back to reality

Las Vegas was a blast! I was NOT ready to come back to reality. But back to it. Here are just a few pictures of the trip.
Jona and me at Freemont Street
I love this picture of Jona and Rob at the Bellagio fountain show

New York New York
Breakfast at the Paris. It was so freaking good. And we got VIP treatment. Because that's how we roll.
Went to a Cardinal game with Lisa, Luke, and Nicole after getting back home. Cards won 10-4, it was fun, hadn't been to a game in a very long time! And hadn't seen Luke and Nicole in a very long time either!

Last night I got my handy, dandy pink tool kit out....
And hung up some new wall hangings I found at Bed, Bath, and Beyond while in Bloomington. I have actually been eyeing these exact prints online but haven't found them in any reasonably priced form until now. These were only $30 each which for the size I thought was a steal. You can kind of see what I had on this wall before in this post. Pretty sure I paid some ridiculous price for the previous wall hanging when I bought it years ago at World Market. It is the third picture down. The picture was kind of small for as big as the wall is. (side note, it is weird looking back through my old blog, seems like so long ago) There are three panels and Bed, Bath, and Beyond only had two. Ignore the weird alien eyes on the crazy dog in the photo.

We won't talk about how many nail holes there are behind these panels. Because of how much of a pain it was trying to line these up. But who would know by looking at them. :)
Then I also got this piece of metal wall art for the dining room. I really wanted to hang it sideways but the way the nail holes are on the back it makes it pretty much impossible to hang sideways.

It's kind of hard to see but the flowers are kind of 3D and stick out at various depths. I like it a lot. Of course I thought I was doing great not buying anything in Vegas. Then I get back and go crazy in Bed, Bath, and Beyond. But, I had coupons, go figure! It was a fun splurge.

Back to work and of course, overtime! I'm making some progress on my financial goals. I'm seriously considering putting up a fence, maybe not through my entire yard, just partial. So I'm going to price it. I think it would be worth it for the hassle it would save me in taking out the dogs. Next up, I'm looking forward to taking a trip to Nashville at the end of this month to see Stacy and Andre!
