Here we go

The race results will be Here. I can't predict what our time will be, at this point I'm going to be happy to finish! The weather here today has been sleeting and gross, so it will be nice to head into warmer weather. As long as the sleet doesn't delay the flight! Time to find out what I signed up for!

I never was good at math

Let's throw out some numbers shall we?

13.1-miles I need to be able to get my legs to carry me

1-week from today when I have to make it happen

1-number of days I ran this week (stress pretty much rendered me useless)

2-number of drinks I consumed on Wednesday

3-pounds I lost this week (stress, stress, stress)

3-number of miles I pounded out on the treadmill today

7-number of miles I hoped to pound out on the treadmill today

75.65-number of miles I have ran in the past 6 weeks

130-number of miles my training plan called for me running the past 6 weeks

54.35-number of miles I did not run according to my training plan

5-number of Body Pump classes I attended the past 6 weeks

2-number of long runs in the past 6 weeks

136.49-number of times I have had the frantic thought I am seriously undertrained for this half marathon

Yeah, I've been lazy
The pressure has gotten to me

These all really make me laugh. :)

I thought this one was especially appropriate for "wishing on a falling star" at Disney. This is my favorite poster ever.

On to other topics, the dog's Valentine's Day gifts were a success.

I made her dress up as I like to do on holidays.

The new toys kept them occupied for awhile

Magnus was the first to crash

with Jazz not far behind

Last weekend I finished up a recent project...it was a really quick one, a paint can.

I was going with the office supply theme but liked the birds thrown on there too. It was really easy to just use rub ons on the paint can.

Finished project filled with goodies. This week is going to be fairly busy in preparation of leaving on Friday. I am hoping we can avoid checking any luggage so there is strategic packing that needs to be done. They say that if you can run 7-10 miles you can finish a half marathon thanks to the adrenaline rush. I'm hoping for adrenaline like Jason Statham in Crank.

It's My Life

So I just found out that Stacy and I will have to board a bus from our Disney hotel at 4am to head to the marathon because we have to be at the starting line at 5am. If we are there later than 5am we can't start. Holy mother, 4am. And Florida is one hour ahead of us, so that is like 3am our time. I don't know that our spectators will be joining us that morning, or if they do they may not think they are at the happiest place on earth.
Oh well, I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Oh there are some exciting times coming up! After I have a few weeks to recover and can walk again I am heading to Bloomington to see Sugarland! And then...

St. Louis in May so Missy and I can see our guy! Hey, It's My Life and it's now or never, I ain't gonna live forever, I just wanna live while I'm alive. So yes, we're going to see them for the 4th time. And hopefully it won't be the last.
Another funny story for you, I get to work one day last week and have an email from a girlfriend of mine saying she met this great guy but he is just a little too young for her. Then she gives some details about where he works, his name, some key facts about him. It takes me all of about 2 seconds to realize he is the guy who I'm referencing in this post, I tend to refer to him as DUI stalker guy. What are the chances? I had to laugh and told her I would have to pass. After filling her in she quickly put him on her "do not call" list. Oh the life and times of a single gal. These Days there are plenty of fish out there for sure, but so many of them Give Love a Bad Name. I find myself telling a lot of them to Have a Nice Day. I'm waiting for the one to be my Superman. The one who I know will always say "I'll be There for You" and mean it. Just gotta Keep the Faith.
(he he, who is now completely annoyed at all my JBJ song references? I just couldn't help myself)

Four steps and a wee wee

I'm typing this as I'm watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills lost footage. I adore Giggy. The dog cracks me up. I wish I could carry my dog around and she would just sit and hang out. And let me dress her up in all kinds of outfits. How cute is Lisa with her accent? My favorite part tonight was when they did the bit on Giggy and Kyle says "Does he ever walk on the ground?" and the response from Lisa is "He just took four steps and a wee wee." So after I finished laughing I was like "Ah ha, there is my post title!" Not that it really has anything to do with my post.

Clearance at Wal-Mart! Scarf $5 and gloves $4.
I had a little shoe shopping spree at Kohl's.
There's a reason they are called rain boots, they sure don't do anything for your feet in the snow. Kind of like the "stick your tongue to a frosty pole as in A Christmas Story style" effect for your feet.
So it's a little wishful thinking for sandals considering the weather but....
I have a similar pair in black and I love them, and I'm really digging the blush colored shoes right now.
Again the blush/nude shoes...these heels are on the small side for me but I still really like them.
These heels....not on the small side. These are the ones I was most excited about! A smokey pink sparkly pair, yes please!
So four new pairs of shoes. There is how I'm relating it back to "four steps."
Got this sample in the mail...
Think it will help me with this? Let me just say, studying for CPCU while training for a half marathon at the same time, not a good idea. Not a good idea. Both require quite a bit of time and leave very little time to squeeze in the Real Housewives and Giggy.

In case you didn't notice...

I'm guilty of it too, but how funny is it that everyone went crazy posting snow pictures? Because we didn't already know there was a blizzard going through.
Apparently my eskimo like temps inside are too warm for Magnus because he could not wait to get outside and frollick in the snow. Most people gasp when I say I keep the thermostat at 64. Yes, 64. I'm pretty cheap on the gas bill. But with the past 2 days stuck in the house and the bitter cold I did actually have it up to 66 at times. I'll probably pass out when I get the heat bill.
Jazz was not a fan of the snow. She tried to follow in Magnus's tracks.
But mostly she wanted to warm her paws up as quickly as possible. I must say if I wasn't already divorced I imagine after 2 days stuck in the house I would be now. I've been tempted to see who I could pawn the kid off on for a few days. But amazingly enough our bickering paid off, because she stayed upstairs and I stayed downstairs. Something got into her and she actually cleaned her room, to the point where her entire floor is visible and I could walk in! I couldn't believe it when I said "I'm coming in" and didn't get the "NO WAIT do not come in yet!" screech. So after finding the room clean I decided I wouldn't pawn her off after all.

A Blogger's Life

This picture is floating around Facebook and also found on the blog I'm referencing in this post. Cracks me up. While reading one of my many daily blogs I ran across this post. It made me laugh because it brought up some good points about blogging. I've recapped in my own words.
1. As a blogger, both blogging and being addicted to others blogs, you can spend hours in front of the computer and get absolutely nothing accomplished.

2. They need internet dating sites where people get to know each other through blogs. Uh, genious idea! How much can you get to know someone from their profile where they post only what they want you to know about them? You certainly can't see from their profile that they can't drive because they have a DUI and if you dare to give him your phone number he will text you 50 times the next day at work and totally creep you out. I mean I'm sure had I read the guy's blog I would've figured that all out right?

3. The ups and downs of everyday life are clearly laid out on a blog

4. The blogger I'm referencing notes that all she has to do to make people think she is cool is not blog and people think she is off living her awesome life. I think it just the opposite. I think on a blog I can make my life sound a lot cooler than it is thanks to those little things called adjectives.

5. On the other hand I completely agree when she says all she has to do to make people think she is depressed is not blog. Mostly I agree with this because when I'm depressed I usually do not blog, unless it is a really depressing post to bring you all down along with me.

6. She notes that all people are the same because she gets a lot of "I relate" messages. I agree that on all the blogs I read I can relate to many of the posts. I like her point that we all want to be unique but it's nice to know we aren't all insane. I think it's important to consider however that we all tend to read the blogs/internet sites that we are interested in to begin with. So the chances I'm going to relate to something on the sites I read daily are pretty high. That is why I'm on those sites to begin with. If sites I was reading daily included cross dressing, dentistry, and soccer blogs, chances are I'm not going to relate to a darn thing on them. Well maybe just on the cross....oh never mind.

7. I liked her story about her two worlds colliding, her real life and her blog life, when her friend found her blog link through Facebook newsfeed. I've posted my blog link on FB in the past, before I really had a lot of friends on FB. I've thought about posting it since and then thought "Well who all would look at it, what would they think?" The truth is I really have no idea who looks at my blog now. I have a good idea of my regulars, but anyone could be reading it. I guess whoever is reading it will have a good idea of the real me. Or think my life is cooler than it is. It is kind of like a diary I know everyone will come into my room and read. Welcome to my head peeps.

8. Mostly I like to blog the random thoughts I know you would all hear if you had to see me everyday. You know, the Shyla moments I know most of you all miss!
